for the last week i have been in the isle of man for the annual TT race week and to see my physiotherapist many times. The body is now improving a lot and almost ok after the big crash in America during the first lap of qualifying. The headache has gone and my neck is quite free and moving well again. My leg is still a little tight but the bicycle is helping. I must thank my protective equipment especially my Premier helmet because i took a big blow to the head and after brain scans everything was fine. Also my racing suit from RST and my sidi boots did a great job. All my equipment had a good test because i had to jump off the bike at almost 200km per hour when the brakes failed.”
Next week we have a private test at Magny cours to test some new ideas and hopefully find some improvements to the CBR600 and then it is straight to Misano for the next race. I am really looking forward to Misano because it is always hot and I have a good record there and it is Italy where the atmosphere is great. Ci vediamo in Italia.

Whether you call it damage limitation or whatever, it’s very disappointing. I felt we’d made a bit of progress this morning in warm-up after a difficult day yesterday. But in the race today, I had no real feeling and found it difficult to turn the bike. In the early laps when it was still a bit wet, I couldn’t really tell what the rear was doing and I had some shifting problems, too. As the track dried, I just couldn’t turn on the throttle out of corners and had to wait until I was nearly upright before I got on the gas. We’ve got some work to do before Assen, but I know the team will get it sorted.

I am feeling very fit and motivated for this weekend after some good training on my bicycle in italy. We will have the new 2009 cbr 600 for the first time this weekend.

I was happy enough with my race. I did everything I could to win coming onto the straight in front but got slipstreamed to the line.
Another good points day and now we are leading the championship so its ok.
